Supported Devices — Appspace Compatible

Appspace Compatible devices are devices where the Appspace app has been tested for basic compatibility, but has not undergone Appspace's full internal certification process. This includes devices tested by hardware partners against Appspace-defined scenarios, as well as devices known to run the Appspace app successfully with documented limitations.

Key characteristics of Appspace Compatible devices:

• Appspace does not perform full certification or regression testing on these devices
• Some features may be limited or dependent on the device manufacturer
• Known limitations are documented in each device section below
• Compatibility may vary by OS version, firmware, or hardware configuration
• Appspace Customer Care provides support on a best-effort basis, using the exact model if available, or a similar OS (Android, Windows, etc.) if not. Hardware partners assume primary responsibility for supporting customers and addressing device-specific issues.

Amino

Device Limitations

• Cards with passport integrations have not been tested.
• Multicast streaming is not supported.
• Certain video content transitions may display black or blue screens during playback.
• Layouts configured with many channels and widgets (4+) may cause playback performance issues. HD resolutions are recommended.
• Webview content with CORS policy may cause playlist issues.

Barco

Device Limitations

• Resolution limited to 1080p @ 30 fps video (8Mbps max bitrate for CX-50, 5Mbps max or lower bitrate for CX-30).

Hisense

Device Limitations

• May experience issues with transitions using Industry Feeds Collection Card.
• May experience issues with 4K content playback. 1920 x 1080 resolution is recommended.
• Multizone playlist channels not supported.
• Does not support multiple videos at the same time.
• Instagram, PowerBI, SharePoint, Salesforce, Tableau, Beezy, and Webex Recordings cards not tested.

IAdea

Strengths

• Supports 4K video content playback.
• The XMP-7500 and XDS-2288 are the recommended models for Appspace interactivity.

Device Limitations

• Supports displaying only a single video playback due to codec limitations.
• Does not support all Live streaming or RSTP video streams.
• Transitions issues during video playback or between cards.
• The WBD-0500 device does not support Docking Station functionality with the Desk Booking card.

Maxhub

Device Limitations

• Cards with passport integrations have not been tested.
• Multicast streaming is not supported.
• Certain video content transitions may display black or blue screens during playback.
• Layouts configured with media zones (4+) containing 4K high-resolution content causes playback performance issues. HD resolutions are recommended.
• Webview content with CORS policy may cause playlist issues.

MediaStar Systems

Strengths

• Supports HLS Live Channel streaming.
• Supports 4K resolution displays at 30 fps max.

Device Limitations

• Premium Cards have not been tested.
• Supports displaying only two hardware-decoded videos simultaneously; software-decoded videos have degraded performance on a 4-zone video test.
• Significant performance issues when displaying high-resolution images (6000 x 4000) due to exceeding GPU capabilities.
• Does not support UDP Live Channels streaming in channel browsing mode.

Assured Platform

Strengths

• Supports HLS and UDP Live Channel streaming.
• Supports HD H.264 streams at 24 fps and HD H.265 streams at 30 fps.

Device Limitations

• Playback issues with YouTube card due to Chrome version.
• Does not support 4K resolutions.
• Supports displaying only two hardware-decoded videos simultaneously; software-decoded videos have degraded performance in a 4-zone video test.
• Significant performance issues when displaying high-resolution images (6000 x 4000).

Philips Professional Display Solutions (Philips PDS)

Strengths

• Supports both HD and 4K content playback.
• Special functionality on devices allows for apps to be restarted in the event of failure.
• Remote installation.

Device Limitations

• Premium Cards have not been tested.
• Does not support external video streams (multicast UDP).
• Unable to display or may experience issues displaying Legacy content (snippets).
• Additional limitations for Philips PDS T-Line series:
  • Limited to a single video pipeline.
  • Does not support HLS Live channel streaming.
  • Does not support HD and 4K playback for multizone videos.
  • Unable to configure passports for certain Social Media cards.
  • Does not reboot the Appspace App after a crash.

Qbic Technology

Device Limitations

• Smart Panel PC devices TD-1070 and TD-1060 Slim are limited to room booking functionality, while TD-0360 BookBuddy is limited to desk booking only.
• Does not support Multicast Streaming.
• Compatible devices have not been tested for: Broadcasts, Appspace Premium Cards, Appspace Cards that require passport integrations, Portrait mode on Box PC devices, 4K video playback on Box PC BXP-300 (tested on BXP-320 only), Digital signage functionality on Smart Panel PC devices, Google Sheets/Slides, Facebook, Instagram, Power BI, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Tableau cards, or Visitor Management Kiosk Card.

Sharp NEC

Strengths

• Suitable for standard digital signage applications.
• Supports a single Full HD (1080p) during content playback.

Device Limitations

• MPi5 Kit Raspberry Pi devices: Facebook, Instagram, SharePoint, Salesforce, Tableau, Webex Recording, and Premium Content cards not tested. Visitor Management Kiosk card not tested. Possible buffering issues on HLS streams. Multicast video streams not supported.
• MPi4 Kit Raspberry Pi devices: Can only display a single Full HD (1080p) during content playback. Can only display a single 4K video stream at a time. Does not support local file caching. Performance issues during playback of multizone layouts or advanced channels containing heavy content. Buffering issues on HLS streams. Multicast streams are not supported.
• Sharp MultiSync devices: 4K video playback is not supported. IPTV is not supported. Support for Social Card integration will be tested by Sharp based on customer requirements.

Sony

Device Limitations

• Premium Cards have not been tested.
• Can only display two videos simultaneously at max video output.
• Performance issues during playback of 4K videos and layouts with heavy content, mainly during transitions when two videos are displayed simultaneously.
• Does not support multicast UDP playback.
• Android TV does not natively support portrait mode; setting "portrait" through the Appspace console does not bypass this limitation unless Sony Device Management Platform is used.
• Appspace App does not automatically launch or restart after an app failure (crash); the device reverts back to the home screen.

ViewSonic

Device Limitations

• Facebook, Instagram, Power BI, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Tableau cards not tested.
• Multizone playlists and transitions may experience lag.
• Workplace Management Cards not tested (Room Schedule / Schedule Board / Visitor Management).
• IPTV support with HLS only.

Yealink

Device Limitations

• Advanced Channels displaying multiple 1080p HD videos in a multizone layout may cause the device to crash.
• Room Panel does not support 4K video playback.
• 4K maximum resolution on RoomCast.

Humly
