Learn how to manage a Text Ticker widget in a Multizone Signage Channel. This article is for Communicators who show scrolling or fading text in a zone. After you read this article, you can add the widget, add ticker text, and set spacing, speed, and direction.

Prerequisites

You must be a Publisher for the selected location, channel, or channel group, or have another role that allows you to manage the channel.

Create a Multizone Signage Channel with at least one layout and one zone. See Create a Multizone Signage Channel.
Add a Text Ticker Widget
Add Text Ticker to a zone from the channel Edit tab. Follow the Add Widgets to a Zone steps in Create a Multizone Signage Channel, then select Text Ticker from New widgets.
The widget appears in the content list for the selected zone.
Add Ticker Text
Ticker items are on the Content tab. An empty widget shows No text tickers yet. Click Add Text Ticker. When the widget already has items, click Add.

Open the layout editor and select the Text Ticker widget.

Select the Content tab.

Click Add Text Ticker.

In Text Ticker Text, enter the text to show.

Click Save.
The item appears in the list under the Text column. Drag an item to change its order, or type a new position number. Select an item to Edit or Delete it. Select more than one item to delete them together.
When items exist, you can search the list. Save is available when Text Ticker Text is not empty. The sidebar title is Add Text Ticker for a new item and Edit Text Ticker when you edit.
Configure Text Ticker Settings
Ticker layout is on the layout editor Edit tab, in the Properties accordion.

Select Channels from the Appspace menu.

Open the Multizone Signage Channel.

Select the Edit tab.

Select the layout that contains the Text Ticker widget.

Select Edit from the layout more options menu.

Select the Text Ticker widget.

Select the Edit tab.

Expand Properties.
-
Set the fields you need.

Click Save on the layout editor header.

| Ticker Speed | Very Slow, Slow, Medium, Fast, or Very Fast. New widgets use Medium. |
| Ticker Direction | Left to Right, Right to Left, or Fade In Fade Out. New widgets use Right to Left. |
Style the Text
Select the widget. Use the formatting toolbar to set the font, size, text color, Bold, Italic, Underline, and alignment (Align left, Align center, or Align right). New text uses Arial, size 96, left alignment, and white.
Use the other Edit accordions for placement and style:

General — Name, Size, Position, Opacity, Animation In, and Animation Out.

Appearance — Background, Background Image, Border, and Margins.

Code — Widget GUID and Custom CSS.
The Permissions tab lists Publishers and Editors.
Tip: To open the layout editor from the channel Edit tab, select Edit from the layout more options menu, or click the + button on the widget and select Open editor.
Use Text Ticker Actions
On the Actions tab, set the source to this Text Ticker widget. Choose a method or event:

Set Speed — exposes Speed.

Set Direction — exposes Direction.

On Ticker Item Available — no fields.

On Item Loaded — no fields.
Build the action in Configure Signage Channel Widget Actions.
