Need to bring information or functionality from a third-party system into Appspace, but do not see an out-of-the-box integration?
Appspace provides several ways to extend the platform, including connectors, custom widgets, custom cards, custom assistants, APIs, and webhooks. The right approach depends on what you are trying to bring into Appspace and where you want users to experience it.
Choose the Right Integration Option
| If you want to... | Consider... |
|---|---|
| Bring external content into Appspace automatically | Connectors |
| Add third-party content or functionality to your intranet experience | Custom widgets |
| Create an AI-powered experience connected to your organization's needs | Custom assistants |
| Create a custom experience for digital signage | Custom cards |
| Build your own application or automated integration with Appspace | Appspace APIs and webhooks |
Connectors
Connectors can be used to bring content from supported external sources into Appspace and automate the creation of Appspace content.
This can be useful when information already exists in another system and you want Appspace to retrieve or receive that information as part of a content workflow.

Custom Widgets
Custom widgets provide a way to extend your Appspace intranet experience with customer-developed content and functionality.
This can be a good option when you want to surface information or experiences from another system directly within the end-user experience.

Custom Assistants
Custom assistants allow organizations to create AI assistants designed around specific business needs and make those assistants available within Appspace.

Custom Cards
For digital signage requirements that are not covered by an existing Appspace card, custom cards can be used to build specialized experiences and integrations.
This option is especially useful when a third-party data source needs custom presentation or functionality on signage endpoints.

APIs and Webhooks
For more developer-driven requirements, Appspace also provides API access and webhooks that can support custom applications, automation, and integrations with external systems.
- API access can be used by customer-developed applications to interact with supported Appspace platform services.
- Webhooks can support event-driven integrations between Appspace and third-party applications or automation tools.

What If There Is No Out-of-the-Box Integration?
An integration does not necessarily need to be available as an out-of-the-box Appspace Passport to be possible. Depending on the use case, a connector, custom widget, custom card, API, webhook, or other developer integration may provide another path.
Keep in mind that custom integrations may require customer-developed code, third-party API access, authentication configuration, or additional implementation services. Review the requirements and support boundaries for the selected integration approach before beginning development.
