Appspace supports a wide range of devices for displaying and managing content across your organization. This article will help you identify which type of device you have and direct you to the right compatibility information.
Device Certification Tiers
All supported Appspace devices fall into one of two certification tiers:
Appspace Certified
Devices that have been fully validated by the Appspace Development and Quality Assurance teams. These devices are tested in Appspace QA labs against defined certification criteria, go through full regression and compatibility testing with each Appspace release, and receive official Appspace support for certified functionality. This represents the highest level of assurance for device performance and long-term stability.
Appspace Compatible
Devices where the Appspace app has been tested for basic compatibility, but has not undergone Appspace's full internal certification process. This includes devices tested by hardware partners and devices known to run the Appspace app successfully with documented limitations. Appspace Customer Care provides support on a best-effort basis. This tier enables Appspace to remain device-agnostic and flexible while setting clear expectations about validation depth.

Which device type do you have?
Within the Appspace Certified tier, there are two deployment types depending on how the Appspace App runs on your hardware:
Appspace App Built-In — Appspace is pre-integrated directly into the device's firmware or operating system by the hardware manufacturer. These are typically workplace collaboration devices such as room conferencing systems and scheduling panels where Appspace functionality comes out of the box alongside the device's primary purpose. Supported features may be more limited than on a dedicated Appspace device.
Appspace App for Devices — You install the Appspace App yourself on a device running a supported operating system (such as Android, BrightSign, Windows, Chrome OS, or Samsung Tizen). These are typically dedicated digital signage players, kiosks, or general-purpose computers used for signage.

Covers devices tested by hardware partners for basic Appspace compatibility, including Amino, Barco, Hisense, IAdea, Maxhub, MediaStar Systems, Assured Platform, Philips PDS, Qbic Technology, Sharp NEC, Sony, ViewSonic, Yealink, and Humly. Appspace Customer Care provides support on a best-effort basis for these devices.
App Version Compatibility
If you need to verify which devices are supported by a specific version of the Appspace App for Devices, see Supported App Versions. Each release is supported for nine months after its release date.
Notes
- Reference models are device models tested in the Appspace product engineering lab or by a hardware partner's engineering lab, depending on the certification tier. Devices with similar specifications to the listed reference models may also work, but we recommend working with a systems integrator or Appspace reseller to confirm suitability for your deployment.
