Each role a user can have in the Appspace Intranet offers a different level of permissions and responsibilities. Here is a breakdown of each role, their use case, and a possible example of that role in an organization.
Account Owner
The Account Owners will have full access to all aspects of the Appspace platform, including content, devices, users, locations, and other management tasks. They do not have access to the Account Management Portal unless the Primary Account Owner has granted them permissions. This role will need a Platform and Premium license assigned to them.
Example: Global IT Admin and Global Comms leaders who will need access to manage or configure the entirety of your Appspace account.
Location Admin
A Location Admin is an administrator with access to all the users, devices, user groups, locations, broadcasts, and the Employee View configuration in a particular location. While they will have permissions in their specific location, they will not have administrative access to other locations. This role will need a Platform and Premium license assigned to them as well.
Example: An IT Admin at a specific location in your organization that will act as an administrator for that location. This role is a step below an Account Owner role, with access to only certain features in their location. If you have an organization with multiple locations, this role is an ideal way to manage each location individually.
Publisher (Location Based)
A Location Publisher is like the Location Admin role in which they will only have access to an assigned location(s), but specifically for content management. This is the minimum role a user will need to create Topics and Channels and publish content to them. A Publisher can also create Pages, Quick Posts, Events, and Stories. This role can have either a Platform or Premium license assigned to them.
Example: A Content Manager or HR Representative that will post content to your Channels and Topics and manage any content posted by other users. They can also publish Broadcast messages to communicate critical or time-sensitive information.
Location Super User
A Location Super User is a user that is assigned both Location Admin and Publisher roles. As a Super User, they will be able to manage both workplace management and communication tasks within a specific location. They will have access to all the users, devices, user groups, locations, broadcasts, Employee View configuration features, and content management tools. This role can have either a Platform or Premium license assigned to them.
Example: A Facilities Manager who manages all the operational tasks of a location, such as inviting users, setting up floors, and creating Topics and Channels for content.
Author
An Author will have access to a specific location’s content library and can only create content within that library. If given access, they can also add content to Topics and Channels that they are assigned to. They will need a Premium license to be able to view the Employee View.
Example: A Content Creator in your company that will make content but not manage it.
Viewer
A Viewer is the simplest level of user role in the Appspace platform. This role will only have access to view content and use widgets on the Employee View. They will not have access to the Appspace Console or any management features. The Viewer will only need a Premium license to access the Employee View.
Example: An employee in your organization that you want to consume content and simplify their day-to-day work on the Intranet.
