This article reviews the process for obtaining a HAR file for behavior occurring within the Outlook book on behalf plugin. HAR files can be useful in diagnosing what is occurring in the background when experiencing an error. While we cannot collect HAR files for issues within Outlook desktop applications, we can recreate issues within the Outlook web app and gain a bit more information. The Outlook plugin doesn't quite utilize the same codebase as Places in the Employee View; therefore, sometimes it's necessary to diagnose the plugin directly.
Prerequisites
- Your Microsoft Office 365 passport needs to be enabled within Appspace, and your O365 resources must be imported into Appspace. You can follow the steps on the Configure and Manage Workspace & Desk Reservations - Calendar Providers page to perform these actions.
- The Outlook Plugin for Web must be installed.

To Install the Outlook for Web Plugin:
- In Outlook for web, go to the calendar.
- At the bottom of the menu select more apps.
- Select add apps.
- Search for Appspace, and when the results load, select Appspace for Outlook.

- The Book-on-Behalf/Plugin passport within Appspace must be enabled.
- Navigate to the reservations module within the Appspace admin console.
- Select the settings tab > integrations > select the O365 passport that you imported resources from in the Book on behalf / Plugin passport dropdown.
Steps
- Navigate to and log in to: https://outlook.office.com/.
- Select the Calendar icon on the left navigation bar.
- Select new event.
- Open the browser developer tools and open the network tab (F12).
- From the Outlook event ribbon, select ... then select Appspace places.
- Log in to Appspace via the Outlook places app and create a reservation.
- Depending on the type of error you're diagnosing, the data will be recorded in the developer tools.
- Export the HAR file.
