Welcome to the Commonspace: The Appspace Community! We're excited to have you here and want to ensure you get the most out of our platform. This guide answers some of our most frequently asked questions, covering everything from navigating the community and engaging with groups to creating posts and managing your account. Think of this as a helpful starting point to finding answers to common questions about using the community.

Getting started

Q: I’m new to the community. Where should I start?

A: Welcome to Commonspace! We recommend you start by reviewing the "Ready to get started?" section of the Overview page. From there, you can explore other pages or use the search box, or Kirby, our AI chat agent, to assist you.

Q: Why should I join a group in the Commonspace community?

A: Groups are all about making valuable connections with other professionals. It's a place to engage in conversations, share ideas, and build relationships with people who share similar roles or work in the same industries. You can connect with your peers to discuss broader trends, challenges, and best practices that advance your work.

Q: What is the difference between Ask the community Support and Groups?

A: Use Ask the Community Support when you have a specific question about the Appspace platform. It's the best place to get answers directly from your peers, troubleshoot a problem, or get a quick tip.

Use Groups to talk about broader topics not directly related to Appspace, such as industry trends, challenges, and best practices. It's where you can engage in conversations, share ideas, and build relationships with people in similar roles or industries.

Posting and content

Q: How do I create a post?

A: First, use the search function to see if your question has already been asked and answered. If not, follow these steps to create a new topic:

  1. Select the Create topic button next to your avatar.

  2. Choose the post type: Conversation, Question, or Idea.

  3. Write a short but descriptive title that summarizes your topic.

  4. Provide a detailed description of your issue. The more information you include, the better other users can help you.

  5. Choose the most relevant category for your post.

Q: What is the difference between Idea, Question, and Conversation posts?

A:

  • Idea: Use this to submit product feedback or feature requests you'd like to see implemented.

  • Question: Use this to ask for help with specific use-cases, configuration issues, or other topics that need clarification.

  • Conversation: Use this to discuss best practices, general use-cases, and other topics.

Q: How can I edit or delete my own post?

A: You can't delete a community post or edit its title. However, you can edit the content of your post. Here's how:

  1. Go to the post you want to change.

  2. Hover over the three dots in the bottom right corner.

  3. Select Edit.
