Question

Why is "Save" button not enabled for content is user has Publisher and Location Admin roles

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I have user that does not have the ”Save” button enabled even though they have Publisher and Location Admin for their location and “Can Publish” permissions. They were able to content previously.

Why is “Save” button not enabled for updating schedule or make scheduling changes?

Setting user account permissions in Appspace is not easy.

Hi @tsaucedo

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about these issues you are experiencing.

This usually happens when the Manage Schedule permission isn't fully enabled for your account or user group. Even if you already have roles like Publisher, Location Admin, or "Can Publish," the scheduler function sometimes requires a separate permission layer.

To help us get this sorted out, could you try the following steps?

  1. Open the affected channel, then go to Settings > Permissions.

  2. Check the schedule settings: Ensure your user account (or your user group) has Scheduler or Manage Schedule explicitly enabled, or verify that "Everyone can Manage Schedule" is turned on.(Note: It’s best to check this directly inside the channel settings rather than the main Channel Profile permissions grid, as that view can sometimes take a moment to reflect recent updates.)

  3. Test the changes: Reopen the channel, make a quick, valid schedule update, and see if the Save button becomes active.

Next Steps & Support: If you verify that Manage Schedule is already turned on and the Save button still is disabled after making a valid change, there may be a permissions or migration hiccup behind the scenes (especially if this channel was recently converted from an Advanced Channel).

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please open a ticket with our support team. Our team can jump in, look under the hood at your specific channel configuration, and get this fixed for you right away! Here is the link if you need to do so: https://community.appspace.com/p/support

I doubled checked and yes the user and the user_group they are in are both in there under Publisher permissions.  The user_group is inheriting from networks MACC which is their network.  I’ll ask them to try it again to confirm it still not enabled.

I’m unable to open a support ticket.  I get the error below.

I’m wondering does it matter if the content is a certain library like under “Common Library” in a folder for the location?

I wanted to create a library for the location but not under Common Library, however I could not find a way to do that.  There are other libraries outside of Common Library for other groups with names like “Users_XYZ” and “IT_Admins”.  I have folders under IT_Admins.

Oh. ok I’m waiting for user to confirm if the “Save” button is still not enabled.

One thing that might help me is a Tips sheet for performing certain Admin tasks in Appspace cloud.  Like Create users, assign roles, permissions, and where permissions are needed (library, channels, devices, etc) for each user and does the user need to be in a Group or does it matter.

Hi @tsaucedo ,

The ticket was created and a member of our support team should be reaching out to you soon! If you happen to figure it out yourself, just let them know!

Regarding your request for a tips sheet, we have a perfect resource for that called Skillspace. These are online training courses that cover all those topics you mentioned. You can get there from learn.appspace.com or when you are in your Appspace environment, you can click the question mark in the top right corner which can direct you there as well!
