How do I update the information that prints on visitor badges?

When a drop in guest checks in at the kiosk the "purpose" defaults to "visiting" on the printed tag. How can we have it print the correct purpose?

@kbannis hi there!  That “purpose” on the printed tag comes from the Visitor Type selected during check-in, so the fix is to make sure drop-ins are choosing the right Visitor Type (not the default “Visiting”).

To do that, update your kiosk check-in flow so the correct Visitor Types are available and required:

  • Go to Visitor Management → Kiosk Settings
  • Edit the kiosk configuration for that location
  • In the check-in flow, set which Visitor Types are available and which fields are required, then save and re-publish to the kiosk device

Badge printing itself is configured under Visitor Management → Badge Settings (this controls what prints, but not the “purpose” value).

I found those instructions online earlier but I cannot for the life of me find “kiosk settings” or “badge settings”. When I tried checking in, I wasn’t able to select another visitor type.

@kbannis if you’re using a Visitor Kiosk card, the kiosk flow is configured inside that card (not a separate “Kiosk Settings” page). Go to Library → + Create → Card → Visitor Kiosk, then configure the check-in flow and publish it to the reception device.
