This article outlines the minimum network requirements for running the Appspace platform and ensuring proper device communication. Appspace platform deployment within a secure network environment requires the proper configuration of firewall ports. This documentation outlines the mandatory and optional ports that must be opened on a firewall to facilitate seamless and secure communication for Appspace services and specialized device functions.

Firewall Ports

Configuration of the firewall must enable access to the following ports for secure and seamless delivery of Appspace services.

Required Ports

Port Protocol Purpose
443 HTTPS Must be open toward the Appspace server(s) for secure communication between client machines, devices, and the Appspace platform.

Optional Ports

Firewall configuration may allow access to the following ports only if a deployment requires these specific services or device types:

Port Protocol Purpose Specific Devices
123 UDP For access to Network Time Protocol (NTP) packages. N/A
53 TCP/UDP For access to a Domain Name System (DNS) server. N/A
8884 TCP/UDP Application Networking Manager (ANM) trusted communications. MediaVue SureVue devices only.
8885-8887 TCP/UDP SureVue mesh networking and ANM communication. MediaVue SureVue devices only.
9090 TCP/UDP Chromium debugging services. (The port is open by default, but the listening service is disabled.) MediaVue SureVue devices only.

Configuration Outcome

Configuring these ports according to the specific Appspace implementation and device landscape establishes a secure and reliable operational environment, ensuring all components of the platform can communicate effectively.
