This article outlines the minimum network requirements for running the Appspace platform and accessing core services. Appspace platform functionality depends on adherence to these minimum network requirements for allowed URLs. Appspace requires administrators to configure firewalls, proxy servers, and other network components to allow access to a specific list of required URLs. Allowing access to these domains is essential for seamless functionality, uninterrupted communication with the Appspace platform, reliable content delivery, and necessary external certificate checks.

Required URLs List

Configuration of the network, firewall, or proxy servers must allow access to the following sites:

Required URL Purpose
https://*.appspace.com  Core platform services and communication.
https://*.appspaceusercontent.com  Access to user-uploaded content and assets.

https://*.appspacestatic.com

Access to static content and assets.
Any external NTP server Alternative to using an internal Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
Any external content sources Required for dynamic content such as RSS feeds and external websites.
https://www.worldweatheronline.com/ Mandatory if weather forecasts are configured for countries outside the US.

Certificate Authority Endpoints

Certain devices, such as BrightSign using newer firmware versions, require access to the Certificate Authority OSPF and CRL endpoints to check the validity of the TLS certificates used by Appspace. To ensure continued, uninterrupted access to Appspace services, allowance of the following domain for Google Trust Services, which provides Appspace's TLS certificates, is necessary:

Note:

This access requires communication on Port 80 per the Certificate Authority requirements. The contents of the messages are signed to ensure integrity.

Network Configuration Summary

Careful whitelisting of the URLs above ensures that Appspace devices and client machines can reliably access all necessary services and content, leading to optimal platform performance and stable content delivery.
