I have a device that is running on a BrightSign player and it says it Lost Communication.  Previously I was able to go to Devices and select the device and choose Sync Now, but that’s not working for this device.

@KingJon I know it’s frustrating when Sync Now has worked before and suddenly won’t cooperate.

“Lost Communication” means Appspace isn’t receiving the player’s regular check-ins, so the sync request may not be reaching it either.

Before we dig deeper, let’s give the two usual suspects a quick cameo—you may have already ruled these out:

  • A fresh start: If you haven’t already, disconnect and reconnect the BrightSign player’s power, then allow it to fully restart.

  • A connection check: Confirm the player’s Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection is active. Any recent firewall, proxy, or network changes are helpful clues, too.

If you’ve already covered those, we can pick up from there. Could you share:

  • The BrightSign model, firmware version, and Appspace App version

  • Whether the screen is still displaying content or showing an error

  • When it last communicated successfully, as shown in the Appspace console

  • Whether this affects just this player or other devices as well

That will help narrow down what’s keeping this player out of touch.
