How Insights Works
Insights dashboards organize data into collections that contain widgets. Widgets display data using predefined templates or custom configurations.
Custom widgets can use Analytics to query historical event data and tracked metrics, or Assistant to retrieve and summarize data from a natural-language prompt.
Insights Dashboards
An Insights dashboard displays configured collections, statistics, charts, and other visualizations. The dashboards and data available depend on the dashboard configuration and access available to the signed-in user.
Collections
Collections organize dashboard content into groups. A collection can use a Chart Grid or Stats Grid layout.
Widgets
Widgets display data within a dashboard collection. Existing widget templates can be located by category or search and added to the dashboard.
Custom Widgets
Custom widgets provide additional control over the data source, query configuration, visualization, execution settings, and display size.
Custom widgets can use the following data sources:
- Analytics — Queries historical event data and tracked metrics.
- Assistant — Uses an AI assistant to retrieve and summarize data from a natural-language prompt.
Dashboard Filters
Dashboard filters refine the data displayed in a dashboard. Available filters can include Date, Location, Audience, User, and Department, depending on the selected dashboard.
Dashboard Management
Existing dashboards can be found, viewed, filtered, imported, edited, and managed through available dashboard actions.
Dashboard actions can include adding widgets, adding a dashboard to favorites, exporting a dashboard, copying a dashboard link, and deleting a dashboard.
