Publisher user account cannot create or add cards, update channel and playlist

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I added a new user account assigned it to a location but the user is not able to add or create content/card, update channel or playlist. I believe they have “Publisher” permissions.

What is needed to set permissions for users to add/created cards and content, update playlist and chaneels?

I have content in a folder for the location of the user which has other folders that they do not need, need to set permissions for the users location content folder.

How do I set permissions for that one folder for the user?

Thanks,

@tsaucedo thanks for the details. In addition to assigning the user to a location, please check their role and content access:

  • License and role: Under Users → select the user, confirm they have a Platform license and the Publisher role for the correct location. A location Publisher can create content and manage channels; a separate Author role should not be needed.

  • Folder access: In Library, open the specific folder’s options menu, select Share, and add the user or their group with permission to add and edit content. Share only the folder they need, and review any broader access they may already have.

  • Channel access: For individual channel permissions, go to Channels → select the channel → Settings. Assign Publisher to manage content and settings, or Editor to update content, subject to any approval requirements.

If uploads still fail, have the user select the Library or folder they can write to. Uploads may default to the Common Library, where they may not have write access.

Thanks!

Yep I created the user set to platform license, assigned Publisher Role for their location.

The user could create content but not in their folder I created, I think it went to common library. They couldn’t drag the content to their library folder.

I tried creating a user group and adding the user to it. Not sure how the User group works since did not see how it control access to folder or other areas.

I change the permissions to “Location Admin” and did the Share from the Library folder.  Not sure which of those helped but they were able to add the card created to their folder.

I did not have to assign publisher to the channel but notice the user or user group was not in the permissions so I added the users name to the 2 channels they have.

Thanks.
