Event Device Takeover

We infrequently have events on campus for which we would like to take over devices during the event to play cards specific to the event, with regular content resuming afterward.
For example, Device_1 plays Channel_1 cards, Device_2, Channel_2, etc. There are four devices at Building_1. We would like all four devices in Building_1 to play a different set of event cards, possibly Channel_event, during the event and then go back to their regularly scheduled content.
Is there a relatively simple way to accomplish this temporary takeover?

@MLitty_UNCP hi there!  Normally, for a quick takeover, we would suggest using Broadcasts. However, because the Broadcast tool is designed to show the same content simultaneously across all targeted screens, it wouldn't meet the requirement for localized, device-specific event cards.

If you need each of the four devices in Building 1 to display unique event content, the most practical approach is as follows:

  • Publish unique Event Channels: Assign specific event channels to each individual device (or unique device groups) for the duration of the event.

  • Manual Reversion: Once the event concludes, switch the device assignments back to their regular scheduled channels.

While this method involves a few more steps than a single-click broadcast, it is currently the most reliable way to ensure that Device 1, Device 2, and so on, each display their own specific, tailored content. Here is a guide to help: Publish Content to Apps, Devices, Employees, Email, or Web
