Automatic Feed

Is there a way to automatically feed in content that is updated daily or do we have to upload every single item through appspace as they come in?

@jmnichols yes—you can automate content updates, so you don’t have to upload every item manually. The best option depends on where the content comes from:

  • Dynamic Media: Display an image or other supported media from an external URL and refresh it at a configured interval.

  • RSS feeds: Pull regularly updated content from a compatible feed.

  • Connectors: Bring content from supported external systems into Appspace automatically.

Once configured, these options can keep your displays updated as the source content changes, subject to the refresh settings.

Hi Dawn!

Appreciate the quick response, we already have a folder on AppSpace already that I would like to automatically feed onto our screens without having to check it every day.  The problem I am having is that I get an error message every time I try to feed that folder in.  Is there another way to do it? or is there a step by step guide on how to do it?  Maybe I am just doing it wrong from the get go!

Thank you again for your help,

~Joe

@jmnichols you can automatically feed content from a Library folder to your screens in two ways, depending on your setup:

Option 1: Add a folder to a playlist channel
Best for a simple, full-screen playlist.

  1. Go to Library.

  2. Right-click the folder or open its ellipsis (…) menu.

  3. Select Add to channel, then choose your playlist channel.

Once connected, new content added to the folder becomes available to the playlist automatically.

Option 2: Link a folder to a Media Zone
Best when you want a specific area of a multizone layout to display the folder’s content.

  1. Open the Media Zone playlist.

  2. Click the arrow next to + Add.

  3. Select Link source → Library folder.

  4. Choose the library and folder, then click Save.

The zone stays in sync as items are added to or removed from the folder. Linking brings in the content items; playback scheduling is managed separately in the zone.

To help troubleshoot the error you’re seeing, please share the exact error message, which option you’re using, and whether it occurs in a web browser or an iOS, Android, or desktop app.
