Advanced Tasks in the Appspace Console allow IT Administrators to manage task deployments across devices, device groups, and locations.
This article provides instructions to create, find, run, review, and delete task deployments in Devices > Tasks > Advanced Tasks.
Prerequisites
Ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- The administrator has the Location Admin role or higher.
- Access to the Devices module is enabled.
- The target devices are registered and assigned to the appropriate locations or device groups.
- An Advanced Task template that supports the target device types is available.
Note:
To create or update Advanced Task templates, refer to Configure Task Templates in the Appspace Console.
Access Advanced Tasks
Follow the instructions below to open the Advanced Tasks page.
- Sign in to the Appspace console.
- Select Devices from the navigation menu.
- Select Tasks.
- Select the Advanced Tasks. The Advanced Tasks tab displays deployed advanced device tasks for the selected location.
Search and Filter Device Tasks
Use the search field and filters to locate specific device tasks in the Advanced Tasks list.
- Enter a task name in the Search field.
- Expand a filter in the left navigation sidebar.
- Select a filter option.
The Advanced Tasks listing table updates based on the selected search term and filter options. The following filters may be available:
- Location Tree: Filters tasks by location.
- Age: Filters tasks by deployment date.
- Device: Filters tasks by a specific device.
- Device Group: Filters tasks by device group.
Note:
When a device filter is selected, the task row displays the status, response, and ran information for the selected device only.
Rerun a Device Task
Use the Run Now action to rerun an existing device task immediately.
- Find the task in the Advanced Tasks listing table.
- Click the More Actions (...) menu for the task.

- Select Run Now.
A confirmation dialog appears, indicating that the selected device task is now running.
Note:
After Run Now is selected, the task may display as Not Executed while devices wait to acknowledge the task. The status updates when devices pick up and execute the task.
Rerun Multiple Device Tasks
Use batch actions to rerun multiple existing device tasks at the same time.
- Select two or more tasks in the Advanced Tasks listing table.
- Select Batch Action.

- Select Run Now.
A confirmation dialog appears, indicating that the selected device tasks are now running.
View Device Task Responses
Use the Response column to review execution results for a device task.
- Find the task in the Advanced Tasks listing table.
- Click the value in the Response column.

- Review the device task response modal.
- Select a device row to open the Task Deployment Information side panel.

- Review the available task details, raw data, transformed data, and files.
The response modal lists devices included in the task target. The side panel displays detailed information for the selected device execution.
Note:
For tasks that have not executed or are still executing, the side panel may display only basic task details.
Delete a Device Task
Follow the instructions below to delete a device task that is no longer needed.
- Find the task in the Advanced Tasks listing table.
- Click the More Actions (...) menu for the task.
- Select Delete.
- Review the confirmation dialog.
- Click Delete.
The task is removed from the listing table, and the item count updates.
