The Appspace 8.12.0-ac.4 release introduces a range of new features and improvements across Space Reservation, and Digital Signage capabilities.

Space Reservation

 

Features Description
VergeSense Integration for Space Reservation VergeSense has been added as a supported IoT driver for space reservation events. This integration enables the Appspace platform to utilize VergeSense sensors for enhanced occupancy detection and management within reservation workflows.

Obsolete Application Version Management

Technical Info:

To improve the reliability of software updates, the platform now provides clear identification and handling of obsolete or unsupported application versions. When a device or location is pinned to an outdated version, administrators are promptly notified and guided to take corrective action.

Key enhancements include:

  • Obsolete or unsupported app versions are displayed in red, accompanied by a clear warning.

  • Hovering over the obsolete version reveals a tooltip:
    “The pinned app version is no longer available. Please select a different version.”

  • Obsolete versions are automatically removed from version selection dropdowns, preventing new devices or locations from being assigned unsupported builds.

  • The flagging logic is fully integrated with the location inheritance hierarchy, ensuring that inherited devices are also flagged if their parent location’s pinned version becomes obsolete.

These improvements help administrators maintain up-to-date deployments and prevent the use of unsupported application builds.

Release Schedule Information

The following is the release management schedule as per our Release Calendar for Public Cloud:

  • New Appspace functionality and major platform optimizations will now be released under a quartely release cycle, scheduled at 08:00 pm CST on Friday.

  • Scheduled minor feature updates, cloud service optimizations, and bug and escalation fixes are typically scheduled at 08:00 pm CST time throughout the week, typically on a Tuesday or Friday.

  • Critical updates including security patches or emergency fixes that support the reliability and availability of the Appspace platform will be deployed as necessary and as soon as it is administratively feasible.
