New & Improved Features

This on-prem release includes all the enhancements and improvements included from the 8.0-ac.1 to the 8.0-ac.33 cloud releases. Here are some of the notable highlights:

  • Improvements to Appspace menu, with the following interfaces renamed and changed:
    • The “network” terminology has been replaced with “locations” throughout the Appspace platform, to aptly personify how we now would like users to categorize and group devices according to their physical location into a geographical location, campus location, or building. The Networks tab in the Devices module is now renamed to Locations. See Add and Manage Locations in Devices for more information.
    • With the above change, the Maps module, previously housed under Admin > Maps in the Appspace menu, which allowed users to create floor plans and maps according to a geographical location, campus location, or building (previously tied to the network structure) has been aptly moved to Locations, which is housed in the main Appspace menu sidebar.
    • The Device Tasks module, used only by device administrators, is now moved to the Admin section on the Appspace menu.
  • Improving the First Time User (FTU) experience:
    • Appspace introduces the Products tab on the console dashboard.
    • Account Owners or Location Admins who log in for the first time to the console will be presented with an FTU checklist, to help you get started.
    • The Products tab also provides access to Appspace’s latest product offerings and includes links to workflows within the console or to product marketing pages for an introduction.
  • Redesigned Library. Find out more in the Browse and Navigate Appspace 8.0 Library.
  • Redesigned Users module with a new user licensing framework. See Browse and Navigate Users Module in Appspace 8.0 article for more information.
  • A new Device Licensing module under Devices in the Appspace menu. Administrators can add Content Licences to any device, in order to publish and display premium content that is available through the Industry Feeds and Industry Content Collection cards. Refer to the Device Licensing article.
  • Appspace Employee View is a central location for users to view corporate content that has been published to them. Find out more in the Browse and Navigate Appspace Employee View article.
  • Analytics module, which will gather console-based statistics for content, channels, enterprise messaging apps, users, devices, and the new Team portal. Find out more in the View Analytics in Console.
