Employee View provides employees with a centralized experience to access organizational content, communities, channels, events, and social interactions.

Employees can use Employee View to discover and interact with published content, while Authors, Publishers, and Account Owners can create and publish employee communications based on their permissions and access.

This article provides an overview of Employee View and the common content, authoring, and engagement capabilities available within it.

Employee View

Employee View is the employee-facing experience for accessing and interacting with organizational communications and resources.

Depending on permissions and account configuration, Employee View can provide access to:

  • Posts
  • Communities
  • Channels
  • Topics
  • Pages
  • Stories
  • Events
  • Resources
  • Notifications

Available content and features depend on access permissions and the configuration of the Appspace account.

Authoring in Employee View

Authors, Publishers, and Account Owners can create and publish employee communications directly from Employee View.

Depending on permissions and available features, authoring can include:

  • Creating posts with text, media, files, and links.
  • Creating Event, Question, Poll, and Praise posts.
  • Selecting the community or channel where content is published.
  • Configuring publishing options such as scheduling, tags, social features, Featured content, and Spotlight Targeting.
  • Mentioning people and supported content in posts.
  • Reviewing Post Insights after content is published.

Available authoring options depend on role permissions, destination space access, and account configuration.

Posts and Communications

Posts allow organizations to share announcements, updates, media, files, and links with employees.

Authors, Publishers, and Account Owners can create posts and configure publishing options before the post is published.

Publishing options can include:

  • Destination spaces
  • Tags
  • Scheduling
  • Author selection, when available
  • Featured content
  • Spotlight Targeting
  • Social features

Spotlight Targeting identifies the employees for whom a post is most relevant without changing who can access the post.

For instructions, see Create Posts in Employee View.

Events

Event posts allow organizations to communicate scheduled activities and provide event information to employees.

Event posts can include:

  • Event title
  • Date and time
  • Location
  • Description
  • Conferencing information
  • RSVP options

Content authors can create and publish Event posts, while employees can view event information and respond to RSVP requests when enabled.

For instructions, see:

Questions and Polls

Question and Poll posts provide additional ways to collect information and encourage employee participation.

  • Questions allow content authors to ask employees for input, information, or feedback.
  • Polls allow content authors to provide response options that employees can select.

Question and Poll posts can be published to supported communities or channels.

For instructions, see:

Praise

Praise posts provide a way to recognize employees for their contributions, achievements, or support.

Content authors can select employees to recognize, add a recognition message, and use the available Praise options before publishing the post.

Available Praise options depend on the account configuration.

For instructions, see Send Praise in Employee View.

Social Interactions

When social features are enabled, employees can interact with published posts.

Available interactions can include:

  • Reactions
  • Comments
  • Sharing
  • Interaction notifications

The available options depend on the social features configured for the post.

For instructions, see Interact with Posts in Employee View.

Post Insights

Post Insights provide content authors with information about the performance and engagement of published posts.

Depending on the available data, Post Insights can help content authors review how employees interact with published communications and evaluate content engagement.

For instructions, see View Post Insights in Employee View.
