Appspace delivers updates through a structured release schedule designed to balance early access to new features with additional validation before broader deployment.

Whether you use Cloud or Private Cloud, understanding how each release type works helps you know when new capabilities become available in your environment.

Release Schedule Overview

Appspace releases progress through several deployment stages before reaching the most validated production environments.

Environment Typical Cadence Purpose
Preview Cloud Approximately every 2 weeks Early access to upcoming features
Public Cloud Approximately every 2 weeks after Preview Cloud General production cloud release
Weekly Private Cloud Approximately 2 weeks after Public Cloud More frequent updates in a dedicated Private Cloud environment
Monthly Private Cloud Approximately 4–6 weeks after Weekly Private Cloud Longer validation period before deployment

How Each Release Type Works

Preview Cloud

Preview Cloud gives organizations early access to upcoming platform capabilities before they become generally available.

  • Receives updates approximately every two weeks.
  • Provides the earliest access to new features.
  • Allows customers to evaluate functionality and provide feedback.
  • Features may continue to evolve before wider release.

Public Cloud

Public Cloud receives releases after Preview Cloud, providing additional time for Appspace to validate updates before general production deployment.

  • Receives updates approximately every two weeks.
  • Typically follows Preview Cloud by about two weeks.
  • Includes new features, enhancements, and platform improvements.

Weekly Private Cloud

Weekly Private Cloud is designed for organizations that want faster access to new capabilities while maintaining additional validation beyond the Public Cloud release.

  • Typically deployed about two weeks after Public Cloud.
  • Provides additional validation before deployment.
  • Delivers new capabilities more frequently than Monthly Private Cloud.

Monthly Private Cloud

Monthly Private Cloud is intended for organizations that prefer a longer validation period before updates are deployed into production.

  • Typically deployed four to six weeks after the corresponding Weekly Private Cloud release.
  • Provides approximately one additional month of validation before deployment.
  • Uses a monthly release snapshot instead of every Weekly release.

Each month, the version running on Weekly Private Cloud on the first Tuesday of the previous month becomes the Monthly Private Cloud release for the current month. If no Weekly release occurred on that date, the version currently running on Weekly Private Cloud is used instead.

As a result:

  • Monthly Private Cloud does not receive every intermediate release.
  • Some releases are intentionally skipped as part of the normal cadence.
  • Customers receive a thoroughly validated production release.

Choosing a Private Cloud Release Schedule

If your organization uses Private Cloud, you can choose the release cadence that best fits your operational needs.

If you prefer... Recommended Schedule
Access to new features sooner Weekly Private Cloud
Longer validation periods with fewer updates Monthly Private Cloud

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose my release schedule?

Private Cloud customers can choose between the Weekly and Monthly release schedules. Preview Cloud and Public Cloud release schedules are managed by Appspace.

Can I delay updates?

No. Appspace deployments follow the release schedule assigned to your environment. Customer-controlled release gating is not currently supported.

Does every release reach every environment?

No. Monthly Private Cloud environments receive selected releases designed to provide a stable production experience rather than every intermediate release.

What happens if an issue is discovered after a release?

If an issue is identified after deployment, Appspace addresses it through targeted updates or hotfixes when appropriate. Platform rollbacks are uncommon.

Does Sandbox use a different release schedule?

No. Sandbox environments follow the Monthly Private Cloud deployment schedule, but they install the same Appspace version that is deployed to Weekly Private Cloud.

This allows organizations to validate the upcoming production release before it is deployed to their Monthly Private Cloud production environment.

This provides additional time to:

  • Test new features and enhancements.
  • Validate workflows and integrations.
  • Prepare users for upcoming changes before production deployment.

Why doesn't my Monthly Private Cloud environment receive every release?

Monthly Private Cloud follows a monthly release cadence rather than every intermediate release. Each Monthly release is based on the version that was running on Weekly Private Cloud on the first Tuesday of the previous month, providing approximately one additional month of validation before deployment.
