Part 2: The Mystery Behind the Red Door 🛑

The April Connection is all about pulling back the curtain on our daily work lives. After meeting our "home office consultants" (pets and coffee pots) last week, we’re heading back into the office for a closer look at a workspace staple: The Room Panel.

What’s in a Glow?

We all know the Appspace shorthand: Green means go; Red means busy. But for those of us working remotely—or passing by in the hall—that red light is a total "black box" of mystery. We think it deserves a much more interesting backstory.

🏆 The Challenge: Wrong Answers Only

Forget the calendar invites. We want your most absurd, wildly inaccurate theories: When that room panel turns red, what is actually happening inside?

Need a spark?

  • 🎤 An intense karaoke battle for the last everything bagel.
  • 🧘 The office chairs are holding their weekly support group meeting.
  • 🌱 A secret strategy session for the office plants to plan their next growth spurt.

My Take: "It’s a secret company-wide nap-time coordination session, and I clearly missed the invite." 😴

How to Join

  1. Think of the wildest reason a room would be "off-limits."
  2. Drop your "Wrong Answer" in the comments below.
  3. React to the theories that make you laugh!

No polished ideas required—just quick thoughts. Let’s see who can create the best office lore.

What does the red light signify in your world? Tell us below! ⬇️

Red is the nightlight, indicating someone is sleeping. Green means it's good to go for a nap!

Reheat Room

Someone finally brought in leftovers with aggressive amounts of garlic or fermented fish. The red light is actually a "Biohazard Lockdown" to prevent the smell of Great Aunt Edna's seafood gumbo from colonizing the entire HVAC system.

It’s obviously an industrial-scale corporate origami tournament - They aren't looking at spreadsheets, they’re trying to fold a standard 11x17 sheet of paper into a life-sized replica of a 1994 Honda Civic.

"No, Jenkins! If we don't get the structural integrity of this wheel frame right, the merger will never hold!"

I mean….obvs.
