Problems with accepting an Appspace invitation

When a user accept the invitation, she gets the error :

@hansvth I’m sorry to hear your user is stuck at that "Well, this is unexpected" screen—it’s definitely a frustrating roadblock when you're just trying to get started.

Since she is getting that "Well, this is unexpected" error with a cloud invitation, this is typically caused by a pending join request that's blocking the invite from completing. Essentially, the system might be seeing a "double entry" or a conflicting request that’s preventing the new activation from overriding the old one.

Gathering the Details

To help us pinpoint exactly where the hang-up is, could you provide the following?

  • Environment: What browser/device you're using (e.g., Chrome on Windows, Safari on Mac).

  • Account History: Whether you've ever tried joining a different Appspace instance before or had a previous trial account with this email.

Why this happens

For invitation-related issues, there are often conflicts with existing accounts or SSO configurations that prevent proper activation. If the email address is already tied to a "Pending" status in another instance, the cloud server sometimes struggles to bridge the gap to the new invitation.
