The Devices Map View is a powerful new feature that transforms device management from a list-based workflow into an intuitive, visual experience. This enhancement allows administrators to quickly locate, monitor, and manage devices directly on a map or floor plan.
The Map View integrates a dynamic, visual representation of the entire device network, accessible via a new Map module access point within the device management section, and offers the following key capabilities:
-
Health Status Indicators: Device markers visually reflect the device's current health status, such as online, offline, or communication, providing immediate situational awareness.
-
Interactive Navigation: Clicking on a device in the left-hand sidebar will automatically pan and zoom the map to center on that device's precise location.
-
Quick Access to Details: Clicking a device marker on the map opens the Device Overview pop-up for instant access to device details.
This article provides instructions for creating and configuring the Devices Map View.
Prerequisites
- An Appspace Account Owner that has been assigned a Platform User license.
- A user with the Location Admin role.
- The target device must be registered and visible in the Devices list.
- Relevant Floor Plans (maps) for the location must be uploaded and available for assignment.
- The process of pinning devices is currently manual; there is no autolocation feature.
- Devices must be filtered by Location/Building and then by Floor Plan to be visible for pinning.
